A first look at their new gay romance film, My Policeman, Harry Styles and Emma Corrin of The Crown star.
The first stills from Greg Berlanti’s film, adapted from Bethan Roberts’ book of the same name, have been released by Prime Video.
The plot is set in 1957 in Brighton and follows a police officer named Tom Burgess, played by Styles, who is secretly gay and lives in a culture where being gay is outlawed.
Burgess begins dating Marion (Corrin), a schoolteacher, but has an affair with Patrick Hazelwood, a museum director (David Dawson).
Patrick’s life is thrown into upheaval when he is forced to suppress his actual feelings and marries Marion, and tensions between the married pair escalate.
In addition, My Policeman alternates between two time periods: the 1950s, when Tom is navigating a love triangle, and 40 years later.
The troubled marriage of an elderly Tom (Linus Roache) and Marion (Gina McKee) is further complicated when she decides to take in Patrick (Rupert Everett) after he has a stroke.
The casting of the Don’t Worry Darling star was based on Styles’ enthusiasm for the writing, according to director Michael Grandage.
