The numerical specifications for the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R.
Ram’s 2021 1500 TRX half-ton dune-bashing truck impressed everyone. The first-ever Raptor R rivals the Hellcat-powered pickup truck, which debuted in August 2020.
13.1 inches of ground clearance for extreme off-road performance. In four-low mode, the Raptor R’s final drive ratio is 2.64:1.
The Raptor R has 37-inch tires with optional rubber boots, and its approach and departure angles are 33.1 and 24.9 degrees. This is better than the TRX.
13 and 14.1 inches of suspension travel are appropriate for the tire size. If we had the Raptor’s regular 35s, we’d have 14 to 15 inches of travel.
“V8 with ESA wishbones.”
ESA-equipped V8 with independent front wishbones. Rear Ford trailing arms, coil springs, and a Panhard rod. The 1500 TRX has 0.4-inch longer 24-inch rear coil springs.
The Predator’s 2.65-liter supercharger produces 700 hp at 6,650 rpm and 640 lb-ft at 4,250 rpm. Shelby GT500 has 760 hp and 625 lb-ft (847 Nm).
The Ram 1500 TRX’s 6.2-liter Hellcat has a pushrod-operated valvetrain and 702 horsepower (881 Nm).
Off-road aficionados may criticize Ford for these stats, but they don’t tell the entire picture. The F-150 Raptor R’s curb weight of 5,950 pounds (2,699 kg) is less than its competitor’s 6,350 pounds (2,880 kilograms).
Ford has upped the front spring rate by 5% to preserve the Raptor R’s pleasant ride. For 2023, Dearborn offers eight exterior colors.
The Raptor R went on sale July 18, but its price may dissuade buyers. A 37-inch TRX or Raptor costs $109,145 + $1,795 destination. V8 Raptor demand will drive market changes.
