Users will be able to set enforced breaks whenever the daily restriction on continuous use is met, thanks to a new feature.
TikTok addicts will soon be able to limit their time on the app with the addition of a new set of screen-time settings, according to the company.
Like many of its competitors, already allows users to set a daily screen time limit to assist them stop scrolling through the “for you” page for hours at a time.
Users will now be able to establish time limitations before the organization requires a break after a specific length of uninterrupted screen time – a figure that the user can set themselves if they wish.
TikTok users will also get feedback on how much time they spend on the app, how often they open it, and a split of their day and night usage through a new screen-time dashboard.
The options aren’t only there because TikTok cares about its users’ well-being. If consumers choose to activate the stronger limitations built into both the iOS and Android smartphone platforms, social networks have a strong incentive to offer their own screen-time controls.
Last summer, new regulations mandated that technology businesses be more mindful of how youngsters use their services.
